Counselling, Psychotherapy and My Role

Counselling may be highly focused and brief with specific issues eg life direction/career choice, difficulties at work etc, or a longer period may be needed to go more deeply into feelings and issues. The length of time needed becomes clearer as you go along.

The relationship and processes in Counselling and Psychotherapy provide a non-judgemental, supportive and safe space to focus on just you and what is on your mind. It is not always an easy task and it is my role to be a patient, open and discerning companion on your journey towards problem resolution, greater wholeness and fulfilment of your potential in life.

Our work together is entirely confidential and based on a genuine respect for your values and worldview. It builds on your strengths and offers insights into areas you may need to strengthen and develop in order to fully and positively take on your life's challenges.

I work collaboratively, adapting ways of working to different needs at different stages.I encourage creative ways of exploring issues and,if this feels right for the client, may use action methods or other activity such as writing.
