Qualifications, Training and Experience

I am a qualified Psychotherapist with an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute, Ealing, West London and a Diploma in Psychodrama Psychotherapy from the British Psychodrama Association. Both trainings are accredited by the UK Conference for Psychotherapy(UKCP).I have also had extensive training and supervision in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Group Anaysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I have worked in the field of people development for 25 years,13 years as a Therapist.Of these I have worked 9 years as Psycho-social group and One-to-One therapist in a day therapeutic community for individuals with addiction -related problems, and 13 years in private practice, including 3 years of world travel during which I ran seminars and workshops in the UK, France, Cuba, China and the Sudan. on : different ways of dealing with distress; introducing psychodrama and cross cultural issues.

I am an experienced traveller (recently did 3 year world trip)and offer a counselling service for travellers called TravelMentor.

I have run groups thoughout these years focusing on:

*self management (eg stress, anxiety,self esteem,anger)
*assertiveness skills
*self expression in creative activity such as drama, sandplay, painting, writing
*growing through loss
*acting for change( psychodrama)
*relapse prevention
*community
*womens development
*long term psychotherapy

I have also trained others in the facilitation of the above groups.

I have published extensively eg chapter in 'Group Psychotherapy and Addiction' (Whurr, 2004) and articles in educational, political and psychotherapy journals.
